Hi, After my 1.8 hgf i managed to find a replacement engine, but do you think i can get the old one out. I have everything off such as power steering pump alternator air conditioning pump off etc. Gearbox bolts all off. the engine mount bolt at the ird off and the engine mount bolt at the wing off as well. When lifting with the crane the ird comes with it.
Am i missing a bolt somewhere??

he wrote that the gearbox bolts are all out, it would appear that there is a hidden bolt in the IRD that would need removal.

that's the way I read his post anyroad.

The thought I have is that can you get enough lateral movement to disengage the IRD imput shaft along with gearbox shaft from clutch. I would have thought you need to drop the IRD off first.
There is a bolt the sits behind the IRD at the bottom, you can get to by chisling the corner off the IRD, but you can crack the case, so IRD off is safer option.

thanks for the replies. I am lifting the engine without the gearbox and hopefully the ird. I just can't find the last bolt. I've read it can be done just taking the engine out and leaving the box and ird but just can't find the last bolt

See my last post about the bolt at bottom
Also with the crank pully on dont think it will come off shafts.
