can you make turbo boost at lower rpm

I had a friend that wanted to fit a turbo to his vauxhall vectra... "what harm could it do if I use a turbo off the v6 vectra?" so, as his greasemonkey I looked into it and showed him the pictures of what happens to engine blocks that either weren't meant to have turbos or had bigger/wrong ones fitted.

We're talking cracked blocks, partially melted cranks, blown gaskets and all sorts of assorted nasties, think it put both of us off for life.

I turbo'd a v6 vec b. With uprating the internals ran beautifully only got rid of it because when I went under to replace fuel tank I realised the whole ass end was on its way out. Up your cooling if you want to up your turbo boost don't go too far without upgradable many other parts. First off new rings, gaskets all round and brakes to be safe. Keep it serviced and it will be fine. If you want serious gains uprated rings, Pistons, cams, exhaust, intake, fuel pump, torque converter/clutch. Further power gearbox transfer box, diffs. I may have missed one or two items but you get the gist.

To get what the daft OP is asking you'd need a blower geared up to give boost at idle, god alone knows what would happen beyond 1000rpm.:rolleyes:
Or in other words, no, it f/ing can't be done and it's a bloody stupid question. ;)

To be fair LR get such a small amount of power out the engine new cams would give him what he wants. A remap would see him 80% of the way there

a vnt and a few extras he can get 150-160hp with just bolt on stuff. All he has to do is a search.......... info is out there. TD5 and you can get 245hp out of them with bolt on parts
