one quick question though, im shiny new to this site, where do i need to go on here if im looking for a RF reciever YWY500170. was hoping sombody could lay their hands on one.

im after one because i understand that the ywy500170 is a up to date replacement part and eliminates problems like picking up unwanted radio signals wich wiped my BECM in the first place costing me £465 plus not that i have the problem but stops battery drain on a faulty factory RF reciever part. i think it was my wireless doorbell that put an end to my last BECM. its going in to have the gems ecu re synced with the BECM and hopefully have my motor back up n running. fingers crossed.

Hi All,

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but being a lover of keeping information together and not finding what I wanted with the search button, I thought this a sensible place to add to.

My 95N 4.6 HSE Range Rover P38 has an issue with the passenger side mirror when I stick it in reverse. The mirror drops down, but when putting the car into drive it doesn't come back up.

The driver's side mirror works perfectly and the passenger side mirror manually adjusts in all directions okay - it's the auto bit that doesn't work properly.

Does anyone know if this is this an electronic (ie. wiring) issue or an electronic (ie. BECM) issue?

Thanks,

Malcolm

And really confusing that (in my case) only one of them is affected..! If it was the BECM I would have thought both would be affected.

Just trying to keep stuff together as I'm conscious a lot of the same questions get asked over - happy to go with the flow though if that's preferred..?

Have you tried what was suggested in post 15

Well, I tried the reset procedure and nothing's changed.

Does anyone understand how the mirrors work? Is there a sensor that registers what position the mirror is in; can the mirrors be taken apart for servicing?

Cheers,

Malcolm
