Hi can anyone help???

I've seen this (Land Rover 90 300 Tdi County station wagon 85000 miles on eBay, also, Land Rover Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Jun-08 20:00:00 BST)) on ebay and a quite tempted to bid as it looks solid in the pictures....

but....

Something don't seem quite right about it to me...

1) That looks like a disco 200tdi under the bonnet not a 300tdi defender lump

2) I don't think its a genuine CSW as I have owned one in the past that was genuine and it had individual tip up rear seats in the back and trim around all the windows in the back.

can anyone help, by offering a second opinion from the photos beore I travel to manchester prior to possibly bidding for it. Any help would be very appreciated as potentially it could prevnt me from making a big mistake!!!!

Cheers

The 200 tdi disco and the 300 tdi defneder do at firts glance appear to be similar, however this does look like a 300 tdi. Find a photo of another 300 tdi and compare to be sure, also ask the seller for the VIN (but that does not guarantee that the same engine as it left the factory with is still fitted.) Not sure about the CSW trim, may be there are different levels of trim for the CSW variants.

Looks like a 300 to me. That seller seems to be pretty reputable, i've seen loads on there and he usually has a high reserve but they normally sell before the end of the auction. He knows landys pretty well i think so probably woudn't sell something as genuine if it wasn't, but give him a ring and ask. By all accounts he is pretty straight.

Cheers will give the fellka a ring.

I figured i better around on here for peoples opinions as I have wasted a lot of diesel driving across the country going to look at various defenders that were not as good as the pictures on e-bay.

Tis a 300 TDi motor as air intake is on drivers side (X-flow on 300 motor). The rear seats are not County seats, but are a common addition - the late John Kellet always replaced them with bench seats and seatbelts on his rebuilds.

i bought my landy off of this guy, and within 2 hrs my wheel bearin collapsed, and it didnt help bein flat out on the motorway, it snapped the half shaft n basically welded everythin together inside the axle, managed to get it to a main stealer who sorted it all for a hefty £1500  the guy wasnt very helpful, still got ma landy but his after sales isnt great, but then he has a lot of good feed back, i was maybe just a tad unlucky.

i knew as much aboot landys as i do aboot spaceships, was a bit green, had ma heart set on it, it was a nae bad price, had paid a 500 quid deposit n drove for 9 hours to get there, so it was pretty much a case of, "i'll take it" , they do say ya learn fae your mistakes lol, all good now though, slowly gettin it the way i want it :D
