I have removed my cam sensor to check if faulty.
It has three connector pins.
On measuring resistance across any combination of pins, there is no resistance at all.
I’m assuming it is faulty and therefore causing the non-starting issue.
Anyone know where I might get one today in East Lancashire?

Hi,

Cam sensor will not prevent the engine to start … a new one cost only 100 £.
A fault reader will be helpfull but you need to clear all the codes because a sensor was unpluged.

The engine will not start because of fueling issue, like bad injectors, worn fuel hp pump or fuel pressure sensor.

The cam sensor will prevent starting if faulty. It does not affect running once started.

I cannot say what the DC resistance readings should be I am afraid. The device is, IIRC a hall effect transducer with a semiconductor junction inside. It will require power to operate.
Fault code read, as above is the best route rather than replacing components at cost when they may be ok.
