What's going on with all the diesel P38s at the moment? They all seem to be blowing their engines judging by the amount of posts on here recently. I thought the V8 was the unreliable one?

Is there any pre-emptive maintenance to be done? I've done the stat, the fan is fine, but does the head gasket wear out and should it be replaced at a specified time? Mine's just hit 100k this week and I've just ordered a set of General Grabber AT2's for it (they don't make BFG's in 18") so if I'm spending silly money on tyres, I don't want it blowing up on me!

I'm not, if he hadn't chirped his tyres at the first set I wouldn't have bothered, but from that I knew he really wanted to impress his Doris. I had to show him that the Range Rover is still king.

I try to avoid getting caught up in such nonsense because it costs so much in fuel. I reset the trip computer shortly before, I'm down to Avg. of 15MPG
