Bye bye Disco. See you soon?.

My discovery has never during my ownership seen the back of a recovery truck but it has seen quite a few green lanes and river crossings. View attachment 161270 View attachment 161271
Nice pics :)

That 2nd pic looks like our SH1 (M1 equivalent!). If you think that is not possible, here is a pic I took on SH1 last year...

Here's a pic of my Freelander taking on a gravel crevasse up the side of a very steep hill...

Woops, that is of course a pic of my last Disco - a very capable truck, on one of the rare days it was working!

Here's an actual pic of my Freelander on a Kiwi river bed...

Admittedly, I did get stuck shortly after this and was recovered by a 130 in the group. The test was to see how far I could take a 2WD Freelander - I found it :)

@Big Phil looks a nice one, must be worth it to you to keep it on the road :)

Aye, it's a clean motor and was a joy to drive, until this disaster occured. Anyhow, got it back now, all's well, except for my pocket which is over 2k down, a lot of brass for a pensioner to stump up. I was shown the Torque Converter, the inner bearing had collapsed completely and smashed the internal fins big style. The new TC is the uprated version, so I expect it to tow our small caravan quite comfortably. The gearbox changes are smooth and the lock up works fine, all good now.
