Guys,
My step-son is looking at a 2004 L322 that his girlfriend's father is selling !! Had a look over it this morning to see what might need sorting. Will be able to review all the service history & receipts later this week - apparently there's a folder 2" thick full of them !!

First, has anyone on here ever owned YC04RZU ?
  • All the electrics seem to work ok - we checked every switch & function we could find.
  • Air bags replaced in last couple of years. Not sure about pump.
  • No water or damp in rear side panels
  • Battery is only 650CCA so should be replaced.
  • Drivers door mirror glass has stick-on repair so needs replacement.
  • Cluster LCD needs repair. (I have done one before but it's a PITA to do)
  • Seems to have android stereo, but all bluetooth, sat-nav, etc working. Not tried CD changer.
  • Parking Sensors work ok . . . .. but who really needs this?
  • Headlining starting to droop next to tailgate.
  • One tyre needs replacing.
  • Gearbox seems ok, Current owner says filter & fluid have been done, but don't know how long ago yet.
  • Anyone know what the connector is in attached picture - same loom as fuel filter I think.

And the other real worry is signs of rust on read wheel arches, but can't see behind plastic trims to see how far it goes down the sills.

My l322 diesel has the same connector, think some models must have had a fan on the fuel cooler (the thing next to it)

The 5hp24 ain't worth the hassle.

Oh and the M62 is a high maintenance motor once it gets elderly, no matter what anyone says i've rebuilt 4 of 'em.. :)

May I ask, which engine is the M62? I am new here. Lol
Not yours ;) It's from the FFRR, early L322. You have the little sister, the Sport also known as the L320
If you're interested in learning about your vehicle, the search bar, and google, are great tools. You can spend many 'happy' hours geting to know the ins and outs :)

That reg comes up derv, so it is the M57 with the GM5L trans. Which has plenty of it's own issues to content with. Not least, it wasn't really made to haul that much weight around.
