Hello.

I am thinking of replacing my Audi A6 2.6 P reg with a Range Rover 4.0 SE. I am used to servicing and parts being high (at an independant workshop) but really don't know what sort of prices I am looking at for the Range Rover service and spares (pads, discs etc.). There also seems to be a lot of talk about electrical gremlins too so can anybody give me a general idea of cost ownership and reliablility( I understand the fuel consumption will be higher :D) ?

Apart from the extra fuel costs I'd probably say that parts are similar to your Audi (nice car by the way - great engine - loved mine!!) The P38 is becoming more popular with "enthusiats" and because of that P38 parts are becoming widely available (and cheap) at many of the specialist LR parts suppliers. If you want any specific prices have a look at some of the websites, or buy a couple of LR mags, the ads in there will have plenty of P38 parts listed.

There are a few weak areas on the P38 (air suspension is the main one) check www.rangerovers.net for LOADS of info!

Matt.

Thanks for that info - I am not mechanically gifted and to be honest really only know how to change the oil - I do however know a good mechanic os maybe this is the way.
