Hi Dave.
Dont know if they did any other genuine fitted engine size in a p38. There are a few guys with diesels on here (fraid mines a petrol with lpg) and they'll be able to tell you a lot more. I do know someone who is selling a diesel, i'll get more info and post it.

Cheers Nick.

Hi Dave,
I'm quite new to the P38 DSe, but they are a good unit. You will see lots of advice on here about them.
Problems relating to the BMW engine tend to hinge around the hot starting issues. Also mine tends to run very cold, that also seems to be the same for a number of others on here. Other things to watch are battery condition, but that the same on all, alternator, and the air suspension.

The engine pulls like a train, but dont expect rapid acceleration.
I do 70 motorway miles a day and return approx 28mpg at 70ish.

Dave
