my sister is thinking of buying a 2000 plate freelandermy v6 it has 66k mikes

Priced £1500

Never bought or had a freelander

Any advice or things to look for or ask

Past experience was pretty bad unfortunately. 2001 V6 with low miles. Head gasket failure and gearbox failure. Maybe I was just unlucky!

Make sure the car has a thorough going over. Decent service history is a must too.

Have a browse through the forum mate.
Most common things seem to be the transmission. Make sure the vcu is fitted and that all 4 tires are the same make and size. Check everything works: electric windows, heated seats, mirrors anything you can open/close or turn on and off.

Never had a v6 but plenty on here have check oil for sludgy crap and coolant levels.

Same as buying any second hand car really. Check everything you can and use the faults to haggle the price down (if it's worth it)
