So this how started life with me, bought from a breakers yard just before it was about to be shipped of to some where in Africa
The air bags weren't working it was stuck in low range and wouldn't run at all, but the plus points were it had a brilliantly clean pretty much rust free chassis and other than a couple of dints in drivers door and a little lacquer peal here and there the body was mint as well

Then after a trip to craddocks for a 2" lift kit service parts a new battery plenty of grease to ease the poor old things joints plenty of tinkering to find the starting problem was a bad earth and a good old rattle can spray job it was up and running and went straight threw an mot with only a couple of advisories

So I wasn't expecting much from the tyres that were on it so went and got some new rims with a bigger offset to get a wider track and some slightly bigger tyres with plenty of meat on them to get me up some local hills and around the local off road motor bike track

After a couple of trips out I soon realised my arch gap was no where near good enough and I kept taking chunks out of my new tyres so along came the grinder and the wider arch kit removal of front bumper and anything I could get rid off from the rear end, then I started getting a little happy with grinder while it was out and ended up removing all of the interior apart from the front 2 seats dash board and centre console

So after asking about I managed to find some guidance on how to do a body lift so I set about getting the bits I needed and went for it

All there was left to do now was dislocation cones and some nice 35" tyres with an even wider rim so managed to get a banging deal, traded my old wheels and tyres in and 250quid later left with a brand new set of rims and some part worn tyres

Next on the list is some +" shocks and maybe some firmer springs? could probably do with some bump stops and deffo need to do something with the diff as it doesn't lock and is one of the only things that lets the truck down when im out may just weld it for the time being then look into getting an lsd or something along them lines?

I can recommend old man emu. I use the medium rate. But I'd be tempted to go firm if I bought them again. It handles like a rally car, and ride quality is streets ahead of scorpion and britpart which are the only ones I've used to compare.
I've got mine on their 3rd vehicle now keep swapping them over +40mm. I use their shocks too

do you still have the air suspension??ie ecu, bags, pots, tank.valve block etc?

for fitting to my 71 2 door??
thanks

I've still got all the bags the tank is still on the car but is in perfect condition so could be removed and as I haven't removed the ecu and stuff I'm guessing it's all there just haven't checked it out, if it's any good to you then more than welcome to come have a look mate?

So you took a classic that was in not bad condition and proceeded to ruin it.

....and for some reason have a different license plate on the rear than you do on the front.

At least he will get a bit more for it scrap than he would with rubber airbags. :D:D

Yeah that plate was off a mates car while it was parked having work being done as it didn't have tax on it as the area that we did the work was having a massive crack down on non taxed vehicles haha

As for ruining it I guess it's all down to personal preference int it really I wanted a big classic so I built 1, I haven't gone on any threads about your trucks and slagged them of have i?
