Bruised thigh!

Every time I get out I catch my leg on the recliner latch. I bought some genuine handle covers but they’re way too big. Are there different types? It’s a 2004

Haha I had the same problem and solved it by swapping the driver and passenger seat so that the recline lever is now on the inside of the car, not near the door....

Ah. A quick look at some google pics showed I had them 90 deg out. Doh!

Sounds like back to front, I mean leaning 'forwards' instead of back ...

I was trying to fit the plastic handles on the steel lever with the flats to the side rather than top/bottom

I never had a bother with those levers, but often caught a trouser or jeans pocket on the door striker plate ...

As said, the steel tang goes across the width of the slot, where you see the plastic lugs - not the length of the slot, when they would indeed simply fall off! DAHIK...... A
