Good news: MOT passed before I have replaced the drums and shoes but new set coming so will do it anyway but not this weekend as I thought I would have to.
Got advisories on;
suspension arm ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated front (both sides).
Anyone know about these or any pictures? Artic?
I had an advisory on one dust cover year before last.
If original, they are normally riveted in.
Have to say, for the relatively low cost, and ease, I just bought a pair - the whole arm (including the affixed ball joint).

Undo (3?) bolts, split the old joint and swap. (And realign).
Do the bushes also.

Yeah I seem to remember the same process on another car I had years ago, if that is all it is I shall get around to it before the next mot. Which bushes?

These work well. Originals are 16mm top hole, 32mm bottom hole and 26mm depth.

Or these

I am finally going to get around to sorting out the suspension arms but reading this old thread was thinking if the dust cover on the ball joint is the mot fail, can I just buy a couple of covers like the ones you sent the link for and replace them without replacing the whole arms?
