...right ankle yesterday while gardening. I missed a hole in the ground, put my foot in it, twisted my ankle over and heard it snap over the sound of the petrol strimmer!! Father's Day and my 11th anniversary too. Great day

So, no Freelandering for me for 6wks+ until I'm out of plaster. B U G G E R ! !

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

ah no!

Feel for you sir, I've broken my left leg twice in the same place, just above the ankle.

I highly reccomend combining paracetamol and ibuprofen together for pain relief, (I was advised that by my mum in law who's a nurse!). When they're taken together the pain relief effects are magnified considerably.

Hospital strength cocodamols for me at the moment. I have tried the paracetamol/ibuprofen trick before on the advice of my doctor when I came back from a holiday with both ears infected. Definitely worked, so I shall resort to that if I need to once the cocodamols run out.

Not overly happy at the mo...:(

Ouch, sorry to hear that matey.

Ibuprofen I would recommend anyway just for its anti inflamitary ability. Take an aspirin twice a day too as thins blood a bit which if you are laid up can be a bugger.

I broke my foot almost 2 years ago. Was the worst 11 weeks of my life, lost alot of cash, a gf, started college late due to it and couldnt drive so had to rely on lifts everywhere.

Get well soon and take It easy.

Cheers guys. Thanks for the advice too.

Other half's not exactly looking forward to driving everywhere tho. Question is, should I let her use my motor some of the time to "stop it from seizing up" (her words)...? :) Or should we just stick to her Ford Fusion and I just hobble out occasionally to fire mine up. Hmmm...

Mine was used once a week by my dad for his 40mile commute.
Kept it happy, I did wash the car, roof as well when I had my foot in cast. I was bored so out came the hose etc haha.

know how you feel mate, got a broken arm at the moment, still able to work but get to
do all the paperwork, fun! got and auto d3 so can still kinda drive which is a nice upgrade for a while over my 90 ;)

Nice upgrade. Sadly, even if I had something like that available I still couldn't drive it for now!

Hope your arm mends soon.

Co-codamol are great but give you very weird/obscure dreams, which I quite liked :p. Second the paracetamol/ibuprofen combination. Get well soon! ;)

Oh, that won't be too good. Fingers crossed for you that it IS healing OK.

Regarding everything else - no, the lawn isn't finished. Other half is just getting the mower out now tho :D

Yeah, I had some very odd dreams last night, almost nightmareish in fact. Maybe I will stop taking the cocodamols ASAP and switch to the other suggested drug combination ;)

Proper cast went on today - nice lurid green colour. Got that for the next 4 wks and then a boot-type-thing. Can't wait...
