like fuel starvation?I’ve got it home. Disconnected battery and kept turning ignition on and off and got there. It sounds like **** on load. Almost stuttering. No Hawkeye here
No I was on the a road off it. I’ve broken down in narrowed lanes hard shoulder running on m4 before though!! Sketchy stuff. I work in the industry and that experience made me even less keen on smart motorways as that’s the exact scenario they can cause. That was in a brand new Ford Focus and I didn’t even get limp - just engine malfunction and ground to a haltWhistling could be the exhaust manifold.
On another tack, did you mean you were stuck ON the M4 and the RAC wouldn't recover you?!
It’s just sh1t doing it outdoors on the road as d1 is on the drive. It’s hard to describe how it was. I’m hoping it’s just a nasty maf or cps. She’s been running so well and only yest I was on a track in the middle of nowhere late at night as was out fishing. Glad it happened now and not then. I do wonder if the water it’s been smashed with over last couple days is linked. Who knows...whistling could be a hose or exhaust manifold gasket, you can remove filter drain or switch and watch the flow when ignition is switched on
@resto_d1 have you dropped it off at Hartfords?
Both are good.I couldn’t drive it without it lurching. So got it home and broad lane are collecting. Haven’t used Hartfords
Better than who I got it from!!Both are good.
Better for them to do it in the dry
Plus they have the kit to check it out.
