Great video, doesn't look like £1400 of work to me
With the tools I think I could attempt that in future without too many issues.
I ended up letting the garage do the work, I also asked them to go through everything in detail and let me know what they could find.
My old garage had told me that I needed a new handbrake cable, as it was stretched and quoted £300 to replace so I expected to have to pay this. Turns out they had not connected one side of it
... so that's been fixed FOC, honest of the new garage to tell me as I'd expected to pay for this.
Other things they found (but optional to repair as they said it would still get through an MOT):
-
Front Brake pipes corroding - needed replacing at some point in the future
- Slight oil leak on NS - Nothing major, but it's there
- Needed 4 new tyres (I knew this - but wan't going to replace before I knew if I was keeping it)
- Needed 4x4 align after work
I was quoted for £1200 inc. VAT for all the above, including the bushes changed. On the back of the garage saying how good condition the car was in I decided to take the hit. The tyres were £100 each so happy with £800 for all this. Collect tomorrow and currently feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, can't wait to get back out in it again! Been driving an A3, which as fun as it's been to drive, it ain't a RR
