Simple question. Are Britparts as bad as the nickname suggests?

Unless it is g part number then yes there is total **** in some items-britpart have been asked to come and chat and declined

So it's ****part

I bought a ****part wiper switch for my 90. The ####ing plug didn't even connect with mine! How can they source items so poorly made?!

The only reason they will continue to source stuff which clearly is below an acceptable standard is simply down to the fact there is a market for cheap land rover stuff.
Once people stop buying the cheapest stuff then the quality will have to go up.
The difficulty is we will never get enough people to stop buying the cheapest.

Why would you spend easy £20 on something when there is a britpart version for £2.49?
We now land rover fit has never been good and how we have to tweak most stuff to get it to fit etc. But then why are so many people upset when the underpriced item fails or fails to fit?

Some of their stuff is ok, usually if there's no moving parts

I looked at the clutch they make for my 90and I think I could make a better one, but you get what you pay for

Damn right, most people will go for the cheapest option. If id known it was britpart I was buying I wouldnt have wasted my time. I groaned when I saw the blue box :(

generally i will use genuine if i don't want to repeat the job in a few months such as wiper wheel boxes on my TD5 means removing the whole dash, £50 genuine for both is a good deal compared to doing it twice

the only thing i will buy from ****part out of choice is mudflaps as i tend to rip them off often

Have to admit that before joining LZ I'd not realised Britpart were so unpopular. I've used a lot of their axle & suspension bits over the years on all most of my LR's because I couldn't afford the genuine parts and the only problem I can remember was some S2a swivel seal clamp rings that needed the holes slotting.
