My Vitesse was a '69 Mk2 convertible - 'Damson' red if I remember right. When it failed it MOT it didn't fail on much, but it seamed like a lot of agro at the time, so it just went 'out of sight' into the garage until I eventually sold it for pennies. As I say madness.
My son's been driving for a year now and got himself a Rover 220. It failed its WOF (MOT) on a couple of things (bulbs, bushes) and I could see it going the same way as my car did when I was his age - so I went out of my way to be a pain in the arse with him till he got it sorted. Its all done now and right as rain - I then told him the story about the Vitesse to explain why I'd been so on to him about getting it sorted I think he appreciated it after that.
