Hi all
Wondering if anyone local to bristol area would like to start having a land rover/4x4 meet on a regular basis as I don't think there is one local. Already 3 to 4 off us that have a lot to do with each other.
Thought it would be nice to build that community to in involve others.
Let me know if your I interested and I'll happily put something together.
If nothing else a cold drink in the sunshine with other land rover /4x4 owners sounds good to me.
 
I am fairly close to bath and would be keen. My disco is half a disco at the moment though! Will also be looking for some localish green lanes once shes built.

I'm bang in the middle of bristol and bath there quite a few green lanes local to us here and especially up around radstock area. And there's always sailsbury area only down the road when it's not on fire of course lol

I know Radstock. Really want to get out and about and learn the 4wd when she's built. I've had 4wd drive trucks (dmax, hilux etc) but only even used the low range once when I got stuck in a car park fishing lol.

If you ever fancy ripping your hands apart or getting weld spatter in your hair pop round for a coffee :D

Could definitely do with a hand when I get to the boot floor. I'm sure @dieseldog69 would enjoy doing another boot too. He's a sucker for a distressed disco o_O

I'll let you know and fire the BBQ up when I buy the boot floor. Maybe have a bbq fueld resto party! Gotta do my mounts and chassis sections first. Couple weekends there yet. Would really like to get her road worthy within a couple months. Have a look at the steep learning curve project thread

Definitely - shes shot!

YRM full requirements for boot floor and read crossmember comes out about 320 prior to delivery. I then need to order and arch tub from froggats as don't want to patch the other side up like this one I don't think. I'll know when I get onto that side.Think I'll buy next payday

Been a while since of wielded a welder and used to things much thicker than vehicle metal but metals metal I suppose. As for wielding spanners that I'm more than confident in still learning on the landys (first one owned) but vw aircooled engine change on m5 qualifys me at being stupid enough to attempt most stuff. Lol

As for the 'steep learning curve' thread that was actually the second thread I read through on the forum
 
:D Yes first landy for me too. Actually seems far more logical and straight forward than the jap stuff I cut my teeth (and hands) on.

Would definitely be worth while sorting out a little meet. Would help me learn more about the landys and pick peoples brains too!

To learn about landys and pick peoples brains you'd need to talk to Sean he's a absolute treasure chest of land rover information. Altho for some reason claims he doesn't understand how to engage locking diffs on his series. (I'm sure he enjoys watching the rest of us get covered in crap and fall over lol)

theres no locking diffs on a std series

I got a really nice welder, if its needed and loads of spanners, impact drivers and sorts ;)
 
Not local local, but i do know the area and never afraid to give a helping hand as welding and metal cutting is my profession :).
And builder, and handyman and anything else lol

I am a sucker for a lost cause, ahem, sorry a sob story :rolleyes: :D

Just waiting on my bottle of gas and I'll start up the sparkle maker at home to join in the fun that is known as setting ones self on fire with molten metal :eek:

Long way up for me but if we're gonna make a day of it out on the lanes/spannering/setting fire to stuff I'm in ;)
