Brakes

Taken front brakes to pieces on my series 2A 109 (1968) and can't remember which hole on shoe the spring fits into. Is it the one nearest the adjuster post or the one nearer the middle of the shoe. need a reply and advice before the bleeding gets any worse.

Haynes manual pics does not show them connected to holes, as a rough guide fit them to give a good tension say 1/2 to 1 inch stretch, just been adjusting my swb 11 inch front brakes and they seem same as S3 109 and pulling shoes into wheel cylinders took a fair effort
