My friends discovery has just failed it's mot. On the slip it says front to back brake pipe . There saying £ 300. I'm a series man and don't no if that's a good price? . Is it a job I can do on my drive? .

Yes if you have the flaring kit. Not a hard job at all. Cost is a roll of brake pipe. £20 max. Their having a laugh at £300.

FFS!! £300 ?!?!?!??! OMG! your mate needs a new garage!

You could buy the pipe and all the fittings, plus a top notch flaring kit and still do it for less than the £300 they are asking. Robbing gits.

you betcha! .....

and have a decent meal out afterwards!!

Thats far to much £80 tops for you to buy the pipe, flaring tool and fixings plus a new kettle to make a brew with whilst doing it ;) and youd still have change!!

did mine a couple of months ago. Dead easy job. Roll of brake pipe, a flaring kit with pipe cutter from Halfords and spare fittings (didn't need them). Hardest part was jacking up and taking the wheel off!

The n/s front to o/s rear pipe runs on top of the chassis and isn't accessible with the body clearance that you have.

Most cut off each end and fit new sections of pipe to replace the corroded bits.

I have the new pipe in the stores, it's about 14ft long and pre-bent, but only any good if you take the body off, bit like the ACE pipes.
