Brake peddle clicks and sometimes nothing there....

Looking at the parts you get for $96.00 which are not a lot. If you have a lathe and knew the dimensions it would be a quite easy job to make new ones. If mine ever goes i'll be making my own. Then a few pence for O'rings. Sod $96.00.

Famousfour are advertising EBC heavy duty disks and pads, front and rear for £240 + labour or £128 for regular bits. I wouldn't have thought there would be a huge labour charge and their rates seem very resonable to me anyway. As I'm still looking at getting a set of sliders for the bottom I'll prolly make do with the cheaper set as I'm not planning on big mileage and to be honest I don't thrash my mud monster anyway as I don't want to have it springing any other oil leaks. It's quite happy snarling and gargling along at 50 or 60 most of the time and off road you are going to rattle your teeth loose if you get up too much steam so braking then isn't usually a problem.

If I had half a dozen laithes I wouldn't be making my own brakes but best of luck to you Wammers.

Not talking about discs mate, but the repair washers that go in the modulator. Dead simple job, $96.00 for two stainless steel washers and a few O'rings is a bloody ripoff.

Ahhhh. Sorry. I did wonder. £50 for a couple of washers does seem a bit steap perhaps. I just had visions of you making your own disks which would make for an interesting experiment. One probably best carried out on very quiet roads :D

It's the foundry i am short of for casting the blanks. :):):):)

There was some discussion about getting the later modulator unit to work on the earlier vehicles (ie 4 wheel traction control instead of 2) but I've not checked back on that thread to see if anyone's actually done it.

That would be the easiest solution - then you could just buy a later modulator with the steel washers and also gain 4 wheel traction control.

Anyone know if it's doable yet?

Guy

I know that $96 for a few washers and o-rings sounds a lot...

However...
If it comes with instructions and diagrams and stops me having to source washers and o-rings. Then actually its quite cheep, as I will save hours of time.

We could say that about many things, but we are paying for the person who took the time and has expertise to do it. And I guess without them we would all be lost.

Just an observation..
I for one don't mind paying for expertise.

My real problem, I cant even get hold of one.
LOL

Hey been having the same issue with the click and pedal pushing back on my foot. Who have a photo of these washers and gaskets. I work for the railroad in the U.S and can probably source out a few bits. Thanks

I got to say this is just totality unacceptable on the part of Land Rover...you guys need to bow your head in shame, this should be by anyone's standards a recall, this will get about, and you will lose even more custom over this kind of thing, Land Rover used to be a name you could at least rely on, now it seems there in it for the short term ££ and customer losses....give it 10 years there will be no more Land Rover if they want to carry on with the kind of customer care and standards, shame on you

You still can rely on them - to break every 5 minutes :)

You seem to be certain that it's the sleeves in the modulator.
have you tried to see if your pump is working correctly ?
If not, look under FAQ's for the thread I posted today on "Testing Your ABS Pump."
Good luck with it.

Hello gents, I'm new to this forum but have been on others for many years. I have read a little of this thread. I am the creator of the BMR Kit which is the cost effective fix for the p38 modulator failures. I am happy to talk to any of you having problems with the braking system.
Regards Russell (range rover solutions)

Hi Russell :welcome2:

Do you sell through anyone local in the UK (or even Europe)?

Thanks for the :welcome2:sorry no one in that area, but air mail is usually about 7 to 10 days or two days with DHL but expensive.
Regards Russell.

Having experienced on of the kits from Russell -clear instructions and plenty of pictures.

Hi HSE30, I see these are out of stock at the moment, how long before they are available again - I am now getting the clicky break pedal...
