I need some help to find out if I have the correct brake master cylinder fitted to my 109 1969 series 2a land rover with 11 drums all around, single cylinders on the rear and twin on the fronts.
The reason for this question is i have changed everything on the single line non servo break system and I still get a poor pedal. I dont think its air in the system because if I clamp of the rear flexible hose I get a firm pedal. Then if I remove that clamp and just clamp off the front flexible hoses I get a firm pedal again, with all clamps off I get a poor pedal. It takes me two quick pumps of the pedal to get it firm again. I believe it may be that Im not pushing enough brake fluid to the cylinders, hence why I need to know if I have the correct break master cylinder.
The brake shoe adjusters are correctly adjusted and so is the adjustment on the master cylinder (set to what it says in the manual )
I currently have a cv type brake master cylinder fitted, with no markings on it (rounded on the end)
New part fitted;
2x 11 rear drums
All new brake springs front and rear
All new cylinder front and rear (not copy parts)
New copper break lines
New shoes front and rear
New adjusters front and rear
Any help would be great full, thanks
