The fact is YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT THE MOT TEST.
I have been in the trade for 22 years and everything that Trewy and the others say is right. Mot Tester are not allowed to dismantle anything during test and they dont use a hammer on sills they have a tool issued by VOSA which they are to use to tap on sills to identify for excessive corrosion.

Thats my tuppence

ok yer on,but it has had everything new on it BOB.last MOT it went through with no advisories except for the comments that it is a " minter " by the tester.

what MOT testing station do you use bob ? the old bill ?
bet they only do three or four tests a day having to stip your motor down to the chassis to see if theres any rust you cant see with the body on !
do they also remove the tyres from the rims to check inside the tyres for internal damage and Xray the rims for micro cracks ? if not then its a dodgy testing station in my opinion

you talk more crap than i do !

that range rover ya were selling off as spares, why break such a perfect example of an old range rover ? it must have been a real minter having gone through the MOT tests at your testing station

ive kept the rangie and the panels have gone to another 2 door.no parts have been scrapped.

It gives me a GTW higher than 110 tipper.

that is why it is haveing a body change.

last mot took 1.5 hrs at the station in redruff.

them boys are sweet,no stone unturned.

they won't be there when you need your next one then.
no business, with the investment required to equip an MOT station, could survive earning just £33 an hour.

there busy 6 days a week with lorries and trailers,there nice to fit me in.

im supprised with their turn over they dont work seven days a week and seven nights a week just to break even !

one and a half hours to do one MOT ?

5 MOTs in one day at £40 = £200 a day.

thats £1200 a FULL 6 day week.

the guy might as well pack up MOTs and get a job as a shelf stacker at tescos.

so your stripping down your old range rotter and doing what with it ? hope to god you aint making a hybrid out of it ? for one it will be a ringer and two it will never get through the MOT test at that high quality garage you use !

a body change does not require any changes except documents.It does not need sva and so long as its a land rover body and the documents say utility not estate its legal.
