Anyone know what size of Torx bit i need to remove front disc retaining screws on the Freelander 2?
Cheers!Torx 50 I believe same as the rear torx screw
Pretty sure my '99 F1 had 1 firips per solid disc rather than torx.Standard fitment was, I believe, a posidrive screw. Upgrade is Torx.
did you use an impact driverGot the right tool but still had to drill it out. Now the disc is seized solid. I’ve tried hammering, plus gas, and heating with a blow lamp, tried the nut & bolt through the carrier trick to push it out and broke one m8 bolt and bent the other. Any other ideas? I don’t want to get too destructive so I can’t get it to a garage if it doesn’t work!
On the screw? Yes I did. That’s not the problem now though, the disc itself is seized on to the hubdid you use an impact driver
Drilled off the head, actually think I might have drilled too muchDid you drill the screw out fully....or has it flared over the edge of the recess?
usually does the job with a decent sized hammer and proper hit, whack the spigot part of disc with a large copper hammerOn the screw? Yes I did. That’s not the problem now though, the disc itself is seized on to the hub
Been doing that for ages, drilling right through the screw now to make sure it’s not as @Beneagles suggsted then I’ll try the hammer againusually does the job with a decent sized hammer and proper hit, whack the spigot part of disc with a large copper hammer
Nope. I've admitted defeat, it's going to the professionals!Any progress?
