First question is about bleed nipples. what is the best material for them to be made from, I can find brass, mild steel and stainless steel versions. Which one is best for long term usage?

Second question is more specific. I am not new to rebuilding calipers, and have done it several times before on several land rovers. I have successfully rebuilt the front calipers for my 110 station wagon project, and today came to put together the rear calipers. The piston rebuild kit I have used is STC1281 with stainless pistons. To rebuild I split the caliper (as I have done before) however, the caliper cross over seals I have on the shelf and used for the front are too small, part number 17H8764L. Does anyone know the part number for the larger caliper cross over seal between the halves that I need?

On some extensive googling and trawling back through previous invoices does RTC1137 sound correct for the rear caliper crossover seal?

I've always reused them with no issues. Britpart seal retainers are rubbish so I only use genuine there.
I agree and always use genuine piston seals for the same reason. the callipers I am currently rebuilding were very bad and had sat off the vehicle for a long time so all the seals were hard and brittle.
