I need to replace a rear caliper, why such disparity in pricing for non original parts, Britpart is the £20 one?

I am happy to opt for the mid price one, but my mechanic says he uses Britpart all the time!

not a p38 I know but I just changed all discs and calipers on my defender using the cheapo britpart ones, and I've gotta say Im impressed, they all fitted well and fingers crossed work as they should, I cheated a little though, I fitted proper make pads, because there are only so many times you can play Russian roulette without blowing your brains out

What makes you think that?

China:brick:

Well I can't say with 100% but this is generally how it is done. When cars are younger you generally have to exchange things like callipers, alts. etc. they are returned to the manufacturer or other companies that refurbish and put back into circulation .

I would think that Brit part have an agreement with such a manufacturer as the cost of tooling for such low demand items would be high. Could well be done in china as you say.

Breathtaking Drium........thanks for the insight

As the guys selling them to me are on my way home, if they don't work well, can strip them off again and dump them on their counter!

What changed? :p
Nothing has changed, if you read my post I merely said that recent posts had said they were OK. An inflexible approach to life helps no one, if several people have had a good experience with a particular part, I see no harm in saying so, just as I say when a part /supplier proves to be crap.
