I plan to change my 2.5na to a 300tdi after having no look finding a cheap 200 tdi. Ino it's not as easy to change it t as 200tdi. But not sure how I would go about to wire it up in the engine bay as all the wire ans plugs are different to the once on the 2.5 na engine, can I take a loom of the 2.5 na and use that or do I need to cut wires and join them I have tried to search but nout as come up only on how to put the engine in, if any one has done theis or noes any good links that's would be great :D

Thanks for quick reply I seen this link and read though. So I could just take the 300tdi loom of and use my na engine loom, just what would you do with the egr valve, and other stuff on the engine that has wires to it that the 2.5 doesn't

Depends on what year the 300 is

If no ecu then you only need stop control, temp, oil pressure, alternator etc, the others are for the EGR and can be ignored as can EGR valve.:)

Are you going to change the engine mounts on the chassis? I saw a thread which some chap had some a bracket manufactured which allowed him to use the standard mounts.

'twas me ! :) I've done it off of standard mounts you only have to make one for the drivers side and the passenger has holes in the right position

Ill be doing the wiring soon but I'm using the 300 disco loom and splicing into the original loom. Just a case of following wires :)

They will no doubt be different colours, translate your old loom
Connectors onto the corresponding sensors ect, temp to temp, oil to oil ect you may have to extend / change ends to make them work but pretty logical if you've got Haynes manuals for both engines this should help
