I used to carry my Great Dane and mastiff in mine at the same time but neither dogs lay down whilst driving.
I prefer taking the Dane out in the freelander than anything else because of wedges him in a bit and he has his own window to breath out of

Excuse the messy car, found a better picture of him laying down. He DOES NOT lay down unless he is sleeping hence his slightly uncomfortable posture, but you get the idea. It is possible for a Great Dane to lay down in the boot of a freelander

Doesn’t have the drop down window. That was a massive plus for me.
Absolutely. I've got 4.6 M lengths of timber in mine, where the excess pokes out the rear window. I do find that the FL1 is very versatile, when it comes to transportation of unusually shaped or long objects.
