Been an owner for only 2 days...so first of many questions .....have re-aligned the bonnet by about 4mm, shut it down to check it now it wont open. Release catch is fully open but bonnet wont budge.
Anyone know how to open the bonnet without causing damage?

Had the same problem with mine recently.
Whilst you pull the bonnet release as far as you dare get someone to press down on the leading edge of the bonnet to take the pressure off the strike pin spring and then lift the bonnet up, you might have to do this a few times in order to get it to release.
When you've managed to get the bonnet up, slacken the two bolts either side of the lock in the slam plate and lower the bonnet so the taper of the strike pin just enters the lock so it self aligns, then retighten the bolts.
Make sure you saturate the cable as best you can with WD40 as well, it won't do much at first but it will work its way further down into the cable through capillery action.
Hope this helps.

i have trouble with mine occasionally..

pull the release, and hold it, then smack the corner of the bonnet that you can reach at the same time, the extra vibration usually works on mine...

Agggggh done all you have advised..still not budging, no movement up or down. Will do as BoomerV8 advised once I have it open.

In that case try again but pull the bonnet sideways in the opposite direction that you adjusted it as you lift, if that doesn't work I don't know what to suggest

YES YES YES wont be putting a hammer through it tonight!! Thanks for the help. Pulling sideways did the trick. Will go and put it right now.
Never registered on a forum before but boy am glad I did.

Cold beer waiting for me!!

Cheers all
