Hello everyone last year I purchase a land rover td5 after the engine blew on my old 1985 I rebuilt it and sold it being a lot more carful when buying my next one


Oops been really happy with it till now when was thinking of getting my new one resprayed, wile looking her over for any body rust which I didn't think I would find apart from in the rear door I came across this

Is it as bad as it looks

That looks like the result of long term leakage to me..... Is it damp in the back often?
Fix the leak while you're addressing the rust!
 
lol can't flog it wife would never agree to letting me buy a 3rd. I believe the water has come in via the window seals the collected in the corner with the slant of the road. Thanks for your replys think I may look at price to replace them if it's too much will try the wire brush idea and treat it.

You will need to remove the roof and side panels
so you can get at the cappings and remove the old paint and use rust remedy as suggested

if you do this get new corner bolts before you do the job as they will snap
the ones with what look like a rubber bush attached

And and there is also the other route of removal of the cappings to get galvanised future proof
