I’ve got a freelander 2 2010…it was built in landrover uk for the South Africa market…as such, though got all the buttons it doesn’t have the phone ecu module.
Thinking of buying one (lots on eBay)…my question is,, where would it have been fitted and how can I check if the plugs are there so just a case of plugging in?
Also thinking of upgrading the steering wheel…only help with instructions would be very much appreciated

You would get better advice if you posted in the Freelander section. This section is for Landrovers made by the rover company, not SUVs made by an Indian conglomerate.

As a general rule, if it doesn't have leaf springs, it's not a Landrover. Though it might have been made by Jaguar Landrover Tata.

Well that is disappointing I was hoping there would be something crazy going on to mean a series vehicle needed and ECU. try this forum section and repost your query: LINK
@Hippo will be along shortly to indoctrinate you into the strange happenings of that dark little corner of the forum!

Someone in Freelander section may know more but I believe they where fitted behind RHR Qtr panel and ran off the MOST Network.
