The dashboard battery light is on when engine running and heated seats not working. Battery is reading 12.6 engine off and 13.6 engine on.

I have read previous threads where it indicates problem is potentially the blue wire.

How can I simply check if it is the blue wire and how can I easily fix (I have seen the videos on how to replace alternator and hoping fixing blue wire is far less work)?

MOT is due shortly and expect that it would fail is issue not fixed.

Thanks

Hi,

13,6V is a low with the engine on, your Battery isn’t charging like it should. The alternator or its pulley can be the issue, or the battery.

No strange noise indicating a sleeping altenator pulley ?

Regards.

No noise apparent, but might get a better ear to listen

A previous thread said if blue wire faulty, then possibly a fail safe stops full charging

As I understand, that wire can be damaged, look if you see anything obvious.

With the engine on look if the alternator pulley isn’t slipping, and not making strange noises.
