so if i take off the violet pipe should air be coming out the hole in the block??? i'm trying to find out if the air is suppling the tank

Yes it should. Air goes from compressor into block out through 8mm pipe into drier back into block through 8mm pipe from drier past NRV1 then into violet pipe to tank. Remove comp from mountings take off blue pipe and put you finger over outlet air should be blown past your finger if comp is working properly you should not be able to seal it with finger pressure. Compressor is only low volume so if you have a leak it will never catch up.

I know I'm new to this site, but it sounds like the place I always wanted to be. Those threads refering to unhelpful comments are all wrong. The images conjured up by the instructions are priceless.

Well bugger me (not literally please). Could be that NRV1 has a lip worn into the guide cone and it was stuck open. I have known that to happen. But that would only stop air pressure building up it would not explain the rears dropping like a stone. Any way it's working, so far so good, bit of a baffler that one. Did you get your little pump?
