sun roof don't work, mechanism is as free as anything, i get messages in message center "sunroof not set" when i press button either way, i had multi meter on button and got a reading but as its connected to a pcb with a chip and other buttons im not sure, plus i do get messages. it stopped half way open, i closed it manually and it did the same, now nothing! any ideas?

YOUR SUNROOF NEEDS TO BE RESET .. SO ...
Initialisation is achieved by holding the sunroof
slide switch in the open position until the sunroof
stalls. Then hold the sunroof slide switch in the closed
position until the sunroof stalls at fully closed. Repeat
the operation for the tilt open and close functions.
When the sunroof is successfully initialised, the
message centre will display a ’SUNROOF SET’
message.
Front Windows and Sunroof ’One-Touch’ Function
Operation of the front window switches or the sunroof
slide switch for less than 0.4 seconds in either
direction, will start the selected aperture to move in
the one-touch mode of operation. The aperture will
move in the selected direction until the motor stalls or,
if the aperture is closing, a trap is detected. The
aperture can be stopped at any point by operating the
applicable switch in the opposite direction. The
one-touch function is market programmable. Note that
the sunroof tilt function only operates in the inch mode
of operation.

wishful thinking on your part i think! it don't work at all, i was in the process of reseting it along with windows after i got vehicle back from engine rebuild. it went half way then stopped! i have closed it manually, screwdriver in the slot hidden by interior light pannel, its dead as a dodo so i cant reset it!!

When You Press Its Button Do You Hear Any Sound ? I Mean Is Its Motor Working ??? Otherwise , You Still Need To Check The Fuses Box .

i done the obvious, i was a mechanic for ten years so i know all the obvious things to look at, wouldn't bother posting if i hadn't looked at fuses first.
no theres nothing working, motor is dead, i think it may be something to do with the anti trap function but don't know much about this system.

My Father Bought A Bmw X5 2006 ... The Cd Box Wasn't Working ... Ten Technician Checked The Fuses Box ... Nothing .... Scanning ... Nothing .. Then I Looked By Myself ... Then I Found The Appropriate Fuse Not Well Installed ... So I Was Just Telling You My Experience Without Knowing Who You Are !

yes, you prob speak better English than i do, and lpg is liquefied petroleum gas or autogas. its a fraction of the price of petrol which at present is nearly a £ a litre, in other words bloody expensive.
i get with lpg 180miles on 60 litre's at a cost of £25 or less a tank full.
it cost £100 to fill with petrol!
