Bloody Radio switches off?

Hi People,

I have a '98 Disco1 V8i GS with landrovers own radio cassette. My problem is everytime I switch the radio on I need to press the "Band" button at the same time as switching on! the radio then works but there is a constant background beep which continues for 5-10 minutes then the radio stops working and the display reads "SECURITY". I switch off then switch on with the band button and the process repeats add infinitum. If I don't get this fixed soon I think I may go more insane than I already am! Hope someone out there can help/offer good advice. Cheers in advance NosmoV8.

Cheers for that Rob tried that one already bizare! I say prehaps an after market unit may be a better option?

If you haven't got the worries of a multi changer,bung an aftermarket one in. You'll always find a second hand one going cheap in purbeck
