Ok, so as I am sat waiting for the recovery truck, I need to know where do I get a radiator from that does not split!!!
This is the 2nd radiator in 12 months from island 4x4.

2.5DT auto. Why are they splitting?? They go along the top rid on the plastic.

Anybody know where to get a good one from??

There is probably a deeper cause.
1 there Britpart... say no more
2 the cooling system is pressurising..... Cracked head/head gasket

If (1) easy fix.....don't buy sh!tpart, otherwise may well be (2) .....worse scenario, worth looking into - any other symptoms??

There site says '6 month warranty on new parts' :(

you been recovered yet?

Yes thank you;) back home and rangey sat outside the garage for inspection in the morning!! i have the AA repair insurance so i'll be checking if its covered tomorrow.

this is it!!

Radiator P38 2.5TD (Manual & Auto) PCC108460 PCC108470 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

and the first one split when we had the cold snap in december last year coz there was not antifreeze in it after the water pump was replaced..

is there a better rad that this one, and do you think this one would still be under warranty?? i bought it 06/12/10

Advanced radiators give a two year warranty on their rads. Do a search.

The cooling system is supposed to pressurise. Any excess being vented by cap. Do you mean over pressurising, which may mean cap is knackered it does not need to be a cracked head or head gasket. You'll frighten the girl to death.:D:D

actually just looked the cooling system is covered as long as it wasn't caused by freezing!! :D great, gold plated it is then!!

If the first RAD split due to freezing with no antifreeze, I'd be looking at the waterpump because if the water froze and you tried to start the engine there is a good chance the pump is minus some or all of it's impeller.
Oh and you never replied to my email about the valve block.

That's a new one on me, technically warranties are not worth the paper they are printed one - what matters are your consumer rights. Speak to trading standards.
When they state a 6 month warranty and you buy you have entered a contract, the rad lasted 9 months 3 months longer than contract warranty. But like Wammers said could be rad cap??:D

Yes i've just rang tham and they have said the rad IS still under warrenty, i have to buy a new one and they will send this one back for testing:rolleyes: wonder how that will turn out as the guy said something along the same lines as it's due to gases getting in to the cooling system :blah:.

And datatek-- sorry i've been busy but as soon as i have a minute i will get the block out, sorry you said you weren't in a hurry:eek: and it's been ok so i've been lazy! and the water pump was changed and thats why there was not much antifreeze in it as the guy had no antifreeze. so kinda put it down to that.

Not interested in the reason there was no antifreeze only that the lack of it caused the RAD to split and may have done for your water pump.
No, I'm in no hurry, but normally people reply to emails even if only to say I'm too busy. I'm not bothered if you want the valve block or not, I can easily sell it on:)
