P38A Bloody Height Sensor.

Doing a bit of de-rusting the calipers on the car and noticed the arm had snapped off the height sensor. Don't know if I knocked it or not. The rubber elbow was totally seized so might have put a bit of extra strain on it. might have been the cause of the car leaning to one side a bit when parked-no leaks-solenoid would click to let it down. Driving was fine.
Ordered a new sensor and will swap over the arms so don't need to adjust the settings hopefully!
Does RSW still have the EAS software available? Found my old CD but the CD was kaput!

I would drill sensor and tap the arm and bolt it back even as a spare

You will need to re-calibrate, it's the resistor that lacks precision not the actuating arm. The EAS software is still available.

Drilled the one part-but having difficulty drilling the arm-will take it to the bus depot where i volunteer and use the pillar drill.

Found my old laptop and the eas cable-but do you think I could find my usb to serial converter? Last saw it about 10 years ago-ordered a new one-hope the lap top works.

Don't for get to load the driver before plugging the USB to serial adaptor in.

Got a new sensor. Put it on faulted straight away-RR sensor inconsistent (or similar) Took live readings and the value of this sensor changed every time I did a reading. Took it off , measured resistance totally inconsistent between inner and an outer pin-wiggle it and it changed - frequently going open circuit. Messaged seller see what happens. Put the old one with the broken arm back on and set it to about half way-seems ok-only to move it so I can get my sons car on the hardstanding to change the oil. At least my old laptop worked!
