fitted Britpart swivels 6 years ago on mine, are rusted done around 12,000 miles front of spheres rusted and pitted rears ok

Am I right in thinking that you can't buy genuine series swivels direct from land rover. Or is it that they are too expensive.
I did a fair amount of hunting about and I couldn't find any originals - this is why I ended up with Brit Part bits

There was a company a while back selling Teflon coated swivels for Series Landys, I don't know if they are still in existence or if the Teflon coating was any more rust resistant that a normal swivel. In a previous job for marine use components we got parts coated in 4 layers, Nickel, Copper, Nickel, then Chrome, around 4um each layer. Most definitely overkill for Landy swivels and probably cost prohibitive as well.

the bronze looks interesting, is the idea they last forever?
I haven't a clue.

I guess it might be more pitting corrosion resistant. Gut feeling says it would not be as strong as steel but may be there's a way of making it just as good.

Strange that there's virtually no information or sales BS on that site...

picking back up on the rubber ones, bought a set of rubber gaiters for the gear and high low levers for mot last august on the s3, they were britpart they are already tired looking and cracked so I shall get some leather for the swivels and pass on the more expensive rubber ones.

the s3 swivels must be getting on for 6 years old - ok I only do a few hundred miles a year - but still shiny. put on by an indie landie specialist before I started doing things myself. no idea what make they are though

Have a look at these nightmares. Ordered 2 swivel kits from Craddocks. Eventually they arrived, Britpart as expected. Opened them up and they are already rusty in the box!!
Loads of small pin prick marks and best of all a rusty finger print.
Craddocks are starting to look into it but they're certainly not breaking much of a sweat over it so far. Time will tell.
