We insure landies under classic car insurance which has mileage limits, to reflect the very low price of the policy (often in 2 figures) and expected occasional usage. Normal policies on your regular car don't have them.

If you're sick you don't have to pay though so swings and roundabouts as we'd say.
 
For the record i don't mean this in any insulting kind of way. My wife and i have considered moving to Scotland and insurance and tax differences are some of the intimidating parts of a move like that.

We find that just the opposite. we have 2 nice vehicles and ours is $2500 a year with $ 250 deductible and all the bells and whistles, road service,hotel paid if so far from home and repairs take over night, car rental, glass breakage etc.
