Yep.
You can't open the door with the bikes on!
mine tilts to allow the opening of the door and afaik this one does too

yes you can
"Tow and carry" leaves your tow ball left free to enable towing at the same time, even with an AL-KO stabiliser.
The Towing Height Extension 20ET40 may be required.
Hi Guys...yeah was debating the merits / de merits of the maxx rack. Thing that's preventing me getting one is that you have to add support straps left and right to prevent swaying (counter lever forces I think is the term) of the rack and eventual damage to the bracket that attaches to the towbar. I should say that this is in the case of their 5 bike rack version, which is the one I would go for. However...4 bikes appears to be the max you can get to attach to the spare wheel and for sure I wouldn't be opening the door with the bikes on it!
Was interested if anyone had tried the one I found in the link....I like the idea that it appears to connect somehow to the spare wheel rather than messing around with straps.
I very often have 7 bikes and one those occasions I have a small garden trailer and a bike rack attached to the back of the trailer...makes a great rig! But I need something smaller for heading off with just 3 or 4 bikes without all the hassle of loading up a trailer etc...

mine is the 5 rack and I can never be bothered with the ropes
doesn't seem to move or sway much, but mine has custom made base - made by maxxraxx before purchase - so that it slots into a us style tow hitch so it may be more stable than the tow bar mount one. I don't go tonning down the fast lane with all the bikes on the back either
that was one of the things I liked about maxxraxx you can phone them up and talk about your rack c.f. pulling some trinket off the shelf in halfords

I bought this when we went on holiday to Holland. Loved it especially the way it can tilt forward so you can get to the spare wheel if you get a puncture. Easy set up and it was secure.

I bought a Pendle version for my Disco which has a mounting plate which bolts behind the standard tow ball supposedly being able to carry bikes and still tow, used it once - doesnt provide enough clearance for towing my caravan, bikes hitting jockey wheel when turning and damaged spare wheel cover, took it back and got a refund. Now kids bikes go in the back of the Disco, adult bikes travel inside the caravan!

I have this but I cant see how I could get 4 bikes they are too close together, perfect for the 2 I have.
