i have 265/75R16 allterians on modulars (35mm offset) as my road set and they fit in side the arches.
you wont fit the 265's on wolf rims as they are to narrow for the tyre but 255/85R16 will fit straight on no probs.

hope this helps.

I heard if you want anything more than a 235, you need to start changing wheel arches etc. Can't I just whap some 255's or 265's on some wolf rims?

So if you think you cant fit larger than 235 without changing arches why the fook do you think you can just fit 255 or 265 onto wolf rims and be ok.

wolf rims from what i remember are about 5-6" wide and you should be fitting tyres around 205-235. If you want to go wider then you will need disco steels, alloys or wellers/modulars. May be wrong but thats what ive been told.

will 255/85 go straight on? they work out about 1.5" bigger diameter than 265/75

some chaps i know have 255/85R16 on wolf rims fitted to there 130's and one has them fitted to his 90, think you have to adjust the steering stops tho unless you fit spacers

255/85R16 are the largest tyres you can fit to wolf rims

If you have to have BF Goodrich muds you'll be looking at around £600ish for a set of four I'd imagine. Plenty of other manufacturers do the same tread pattern for substantially cheaper though. For example in this month's LRO MailOrder4x4 are doing a set of 4 Insa Turbo Dakars in 235/85/16 (which is what you want) on mod/8 spoke rims for £521.

Sometimes they're false economy. Unfortunately you can't really find out until you've bought them and run them.

I know we've tried cheaper versions of the BFG A/Ts on our 4x4s and the BFGs work out cheaper by a long run because they last for so damn long. Current set on the 110 have done 19k on this one - 10k on the 90 we had before and still look as good as new. So that's ~30k with over 10mm of tread left.
