Hi

Has anyone used propshaft bearings from Bell?
I was going to get mine through foundry but they have just doubled the price of the gkn to £65 a pair!!!!

And I'm not sure where else sells gkn,

I trust Bell because the are very knowledgeable and the guy I spoke to rad very helpful , but I know slot of people say to stick with GKN

Thanks!

Oo ok,
When I emailed them they said they won't be,

Might get them anyway! The seem to be very reliable people and I'm they would help if they failed soon after fitting

Ah well if they said so then they won't be. But they don't supply rubbish, whatever they've got on offer will be top stuff :).

I would be phoning foundry4X4 to check that the ones on their website and their eBay shop are still GKN.

Both are still showing bearings at £27 a pair - no signs of the £65 you mention.

Very strange that.

BTW - I've found both Foundry4X4 and Bell to be straightforward genuine people.

Yeah I called foundry and they say they just got a new batch in of the gkn, because they ran out of stock on the last ones, and the new ones are £65,

The ones for £27 a pair are not Gkn
:(

Blimey that's a big difference in price. I think I'd be on the phone having a ring around to all the 4x4 specialists.

Unfortunately bell are out bearings, they gave me the number of evolution components, which they said us where they get there's from,

Any one used them?

Also I have been looking everywhere for gkn but the cheapest was £40 for a single bearing!

I'm quite tempted to re use my old ones when I replace my vcu,,
I was gonna change them at the same time so u dont have to do this all again anytime soon!

We usually press new high quality bearings in to good condition used hangers. We have tried using bought in complete new units, but can never guarantee which bearings they come with. There are also some cheap after market hangers/bearings that the rubbers are too stiff, causing a horrible vibration.

Generally we don't sell the bearings with our vcu's due to it not being cost effective. If we have some complete on the shelf we sometimes will, but generally keep them to use when we supply a vcu with fitting.

Bell supplied me with the recon VCU complete with bearings, had no problems since fitting about 8 moths ago. Only problem when fitting was the earlier VCU shaft is longer than the later one so had to take off app 1/8th inch for the yoke clamps to tighten correctly.
