I have just invested in a 110 SW, and am looking for the best way to get a good nights sleep in it when away from home. Not planning trips of more than 3 or 4 days at the moment but am keen to set her up with some mod cons. Need a space for food prep, bed, loo and storage. Am thinking of a simple awning for out the back, straight from the back door, maybe keep the loo in there. Not really wanting a roof tent.

So with all that, I would really welcome thoughts, suggestions and any photos, I guess there must be a few genii who have solved this problem long before me.

Cheers is anticipation.

How long is a piece of string ? How many seats do you want to retain? There are loads of ways to set it up , I have in the past modded to sleep 2 . sleep I, and retained 2 or 5 seats. How much other kit do you want to carry ? You can do fully built in or minimalist approach ?

Hi, Yes I now see the question was a bit short in information, so to answer you. I am planning in keeping 5 seats, the back 4 will be taken out. As for kit I would like to keep that to a minimum, just enough to have a few reasonably comfortable days away at a time, hence my thoughts cooking, bed, loo etc.

Does anyone do rear awings that you know of, maybe for the loo out there. The vehicle will be towing as one of my interests are vintage vehicles, so that is the best way now-a-days to get to rallies and still be equiped. I used to pack the lot in the '20s cars with tent etc. a bit of a cram and not very kind on the car.

Fold the backs of the seats flat, 2 wooden supports going across the width, and then 2 peices of board.

The flat boards could be cut into 4 smaller peices to store away neater, but made this in a rush for a trip to wales.

Many thanks for the suggestions to date. Anyone know about awnings for out the back door.

One I know of is caranex, thier is a website for them, we had one, with are 110, slept in the tent. Then we got a D3 and slept in the car, then bought a oztent. It is stand alone second had approx £400-700 depends on size 2-4 sleeper.
