Concise and informative Rick! Taunton LR suggested the RF unit, but no fault codes, and it has been back with garage I bought it from for nearly two weeks without the fault, this despite it being parked outside in all weathers and being tried every day!!!
I've disconnected the blue aerial wire form the RF unit. Have to get pretty close to use fobs now, but after just one night back on our drive the damn thing lit like a christmas tree!!
Let's see wot tonight and the next few bring.........
 
Three nights and four days later and it's been good as gold!!!!!!!!!

Only issue now is that I can't get spare remote to sync - spare key starts it but only on clearing first with other fob; tried it several short trips and a longer run, but fob still not working.

Question: Might it need blue wire temporarily re-connecting to activate fob, or more likely to do with new door handle/micro-switches?

You can buy a modified rf unit which is far less prone to other signals, I would also guess your key won't sync due to the aerial being disconnected, scimjim I can fix your range rover if it hasn't been done already, I am near dorchester !
 
jeez, stealers want £165!!!!! fook that, she's behaved a week now.........just have to be close to activate fobs.....i'll live with that.........unless one comes up on here or fleabay maybe!

Don't waste your cash buying one on fleabay, it will almost certainly be an old spec with the same problem you have.

i agree with Datatek,if you buy one of fleabay it will be more than likely an old faulty one in the new box that the seller has just bought from the stealers.or of fleabay and it is one that he has been scammed on.:mad:;)
