Or maybe people should realise that the P38 is not designed to wade through three foot of water. And leave it at that.

From the hand book.

WADING
WARNING
The maximum advisable wading depth is 20
in. (0,5 metre).
Severe electrical damage may occur if the
vehicle remains stationary for any length of
time when the water level is above the door
sills.

Personally, I wouldn't touch them at all.

If your car is working ok, leave the becm well alone!

Never take it apart for preventive measures as it will come back & bite your arse.

Message acknowledged, but this new submergible stuff looks fab if they start to use it in manufacturing ..

I wasn't really looking at converting it into a James Bond vehicle, just protecting it from knackering due to O-ring failure or general moisture and damp carpets.

People who think they are going to used a P38 for the same off roading of which the Series, Defender, Discos and Classics are capable is going to get a very big shock. And lots of heartbreak. It's designed for a rich farmer to drive up a bumpy track now and again preferably a dry one. Or through the occasional puddle as long as it's not too deep. :D:D:D

100% agreed but the fact that new Technology allows you to take your phone swimming is pretty awesome isn't it

The BECM is, as I said already coated.:)
yes but I think this new stuff is way way better could you spray tissue paper with it and it remains completely dry or a phone that can be thrown in water not because its sealed because this stuff can coat anything and water hasn't got a chance .

Coat tissue paper in coppa slip and it won't get wet.
The only way to ensure total waterproofing is to fill the housing with nitrogen gas and hermetically seal it.

Did anyone see that show with Hammond, the aquaphobic treatment? That would be perfect...

Hammond should, along with Clarkson, be thoroughly coated and immersed in the deepest part of the ocean with 500Kg's of concrete round their ankles, left for a week and then retrieved to see if they have got wet:lol::lol::lol:

The P38 is as good as anything off road - it just doesn't like getting wet!
