hi all,

great forum and hope i can add to it in future, i have a cruise control problem, basically it stopped working !.

replaced all vac pipes checked all connections vacuum pump and gone through the tests in rave, have narrowed the fault down to the becm, i do not have the 5volts as i should have according to test 3d. have checked the contiuity of the YR wire all is ok.

so other than change the becm, which id rather not is there any way of getting the becm fixed?

any info greatly appreciated and thanx in advance.:confused:

You did do the test into the back of the connector with it all still plugged in yes??

If you didn't, do it again :D

If you did....that wire looking at the schematic is to/from the BeCM with noting in between so if you have continuity, time to plug it in to diagnostics and see if there are any fault codes!

hi thanx for reply,

yes i followed rave to the t, also i have the hawkeye diagnostics and check things regular, no fault codes.

For anything to do with the internals of a BECM, Rick-the-Pick is your man.
He does them professionally (he's a business and he charges, but he also guarantees his work).

just to let you know, sorted cruise control by simply winning a replacement c/c ecu from ebay, .99p bargain, nothing to lose for that money and hey presto it all works!!:D:D:D,

so i did all the tests according to rave, which concluded it to be a becm fault, but clearly not the case! moral, dont always believe what you read, after all its a p38!.;)

I also did the tests when my cruise control didn't work and it gave the result that something was wrong with the BECM. Since nothing else was wrong I just assumed RAVE was lying. Ordering a new CC ECU and inverter solved it.

So basically for the price of a CC ECU I would just try replacing that first before even attempting the RAVE tests on it (obviously check the vac hoses first).
