BeCM gremlins?

You need to check the switches, Indicator/headlamp dip/flash for operation and also the wiring for damage or shorting to ground as the inputs from the lighting circuit are all switched on the negative (Ground) side. If it happens again, check to see if you have an input (0V) on pin12, Connector C257...Blue & White wire (Yellow connector below fuses on Becm). If the input is present this suggests either switch or wiring fault mentioned earlier.
The power board checked out 100% and it's highly unlikely that the same fault would occur on a different board.

Had a similar issue with a 1999,rear lights dip and main beam rear wiper and fault codes, went with the BeCM which Irish kindly tested, and supplied a recon unit, this unfortunatly did not resolve the problem, as Irish probably remembers? anyway I removed fuse box and unsoldered the whole thing, hey presto, loose soldered joints to relays and a few burns, repaired them refitted, all is now fine!

Hi thanks John, why would disconnecting the negative battery lead then help?!?

Will check switches , and try to check wiring to ground. Need to get a multi meter for the wiring and the pin12 thing first though!

Just thought, i have an intermittent fault with the rear brake lights that comes on and remains until the car is restarted even if the lights then work, similarly with the drivers side rear light. Firstly, is the normal? Secondly, could this be it?

Cheers Again
