Gonna go into detail on this and hopefully someone can shed some light for me.
When I got my truck the key was snapped and you could use anything to start it using the ignition switch. I had a scrap truck there and I was using it for parts. I decided to use the key blade ignition switch and door lock from the scrap truck. I still kept the original fob. Now truck was starting fine off the key until I locked the door and it went nuts and immobilised. Could not find anyone with nanocom but ended up with a lynx fpro setup very very cheap so I was gonna code a new fob. However when I hooked this up it could not contact the ecu. I ended up hooking up a bcu from the other truck and the lynx linked with it no problem. So I thought the bcu was toast. I put the ecu from the other truck in and go my one running. Coded the injectors and its fine for now as im still at the building stage.
I thought nothing of it till I was called out to a disco with the same problem as mine. I hooked my lynx up and same thing it would not contact the bcu. Luckily this guy als had a spares truck and I was able to get his truck running as I did mine.
Have I encountered 2 faulty bcu's in a row or is there something Im doing wrong. Its worth noting both faulty bcu's alarms were armed and the ones I replaced them with had no alarm
